Bend's
Community Center is dedicated to creating meaningful
partnerships with other community organizations and businesses. As a
result, over the years, BCC has received substantial support towards the
renovation of the building and development of its programs. A partial
listing of this support includes:
• Leadership Bend citizen academy
Provided new landscaping, repaved and repainted the entire parking lot
and replaced all the cement bumpers, replaced front entry steps and
concrete work, plus installed new exterior lighting around the whole
building (Spring 2005)
• Pak IT liquidators, Parr Lumber, Miller Lumber
Donated thousands of dollars of building materials, supplies and
equipment or offered reduced rates on the goods and items needed to
remodel BCC (2002-2005)
• Rodda Paint
Donated 600 gallons of paint for special fundraiser paint sale
• Marshall High School Students
Primarily through SATIN (Students Assisting Those in Need) class – have
provided thousands of volunteer hours on interior and existing projects
(e.g. build storage cabinets, sheds, moved walls, installed windows,
doors and lighting fixtures, painted numerous rooms and repaired kitchen
equipment, etc. (2002-2005)
• St. Charles Hospital
Donated 100 ergo-dynamic chairs, booth tables for café and other
furniture items
• Deschutes County Commission
Have contributed thousands of dollars in lottery funds for economic
development projects (e.g. kitchen remodel)
• Jerry Weick
Donated cabinets for the café and will be donating the cabinets for the
mini-kitchen remodel (Summer 2005)
• Central Oregon Heating
Has agreed to install the air conditioning at cost (half-price) (Summer
2005)
• Kanpai Sushi Restaurant
Donated dishes and other kitchen ware, plus a dishwasher, deli case,
commercial cooking stove, microwaves, and other kitchen equipment
• Brooks Resources Corporation
Donated a substantial contribution to help sustain the Feed the Hungry
Program
• Albertson’s, Safeway, Wild Oats, Erickson’s and other grocers
Regularly donates food and other items to the Feed the Hungry Program
• Strictly Organic Coffee
Donates coffee each week, as well as coffee pots, grinders, air pots
etc.
• Denfeld Paints
Donated paint needed for the interior and exterior of BCC
• Bend Broadband Cable Services
Donated cable installations and cable service through 2008 in honor
of the Feed the Hungry program
